The Permatron magnetic frame design allows prefilters to adhere to steel air intake louvers, eliminating disassembly for cleaning. Model R1 and Model R2 are designed with one or two layers of three-dimensional black honeycomb (BHC) polypropylene electrostatic media, enclosed in a rigid galvanized steel frame.

Model R air filters can be finished with magnetic mount strips or a Z bracket, and can slide into air filter retaining channels. To measure a magnetic backed filter model, ensure the metal frame is placed on a flat steel surface and extends 1/2 inch above the intake opening's inside edge.
