How the Accumulator Chamber® Works

Utilizing two electrostatically charged fabric panels separated by two unique Accumulator Chamber produces a very effective three-stage air filtration process for residential applications.

The prefilter fabric’s electrostatic ability enhances filtration by attracting and holding airborne particulates onto the surface like a magnet. Air flow maintains the prefilter static electricity and once particulates build up, it forces them to break off and collect in the Accumulator Chamber. Within the chamber the turbulence and electrostatic force causes agglomeration into even larger particulates that are too large to pass through the second panel.

DustPlus’s activated carbon afterfilter attracts and holds the smaller particulates that may have escaped the prefilter, or particles that do not respond to an electrostatic charge.

Activated Carbon Filter - Odor Control

Permatron's activated carbon absorbs odors and fumes. Whereas the collector cell captures particulate, the carbon captures noxious gasses.

Permatron charcoal filters exceed manufacturer specs with 14 grams of carbon per square foot along with a low 0.06 wg air resistance.

The carbon is finely ground resulting in over a million square feet of surface area. The carbon is impregnated into the filter media and heat set. There are no loose granules, the filter can be rinsed or vacuumed.

Vapors are pulled by molecular action in to tiny pores and held. In manufacturing the carbon, the activation process creates millions of micropores. The pores are sized and formulated to remove common household VOC's.
