Aprilaire 4838 One-Touch control and LCD Base for Model 5000

No Longer Available. Use Model 8476 as replacement. The new Aprilaire 4838 One-Touch control and LCD Base. The One-Touch control can be wall mounted. The buttons on this control turn-on or cycle the air handler / furnace blower. When the blower runs the Model 5000 is cleaning the air. One-Touch LCD display indicates:

1) The 5000 is running 
2) Filter usage and replacement status 
3) The operating mode

The Aprilaire 5000 One-Touch Control can be mounted on the wall or on the air cleaner. The configuration easiest to wire is the air cleaner mount. Includes the One touch LCD control and the LED Base, wire harness and two AA batteries.

One-Touch Control

The Aprilaire 5000 equipped with the new One-Touch control can be wall mounted. The buttons on this control turn-on or cycle the air handler / furnace blower. When the blower runs the Model 5000 is cleaning the air. To the left is a photo of the One-Touch control as it would appear when wall mounted.

The Aprilaire 5000 One-Touch Control can also be mounted on the air cleaner. This configuration is the easiest to wire. To the left is a photo of the control mounted directly on the Model 5000 LED-Base Control.

When the LCD One-Touch control is wall mounted, the LED-Base module mounts on the Model-5000 with a cover over where the One-Touch control would be mounted (shown on the left photo).

With the LCD One-Touch control wall mounted, the LED-Base is wired to the furnace / air handler. With this configuration the connection uses 3 conductor standard thermostat wire. The LED-Base control has 4 LEDs that illuminate through the plastic when the blower is running.

The LCD One-Touch control is wired to the thermostat when wall mounted. These connections use standard 5 conductor thermostat wire.

The One-Touch control runs on power from the furnace / air handler. If 24vac power is not available, then power can be obtained from two AA batteries. The batteries are not necessary if 24vac power is available and do not perform as a backup. See the Aprilaire 5000 Installation Manual for full detail.
