The TrueSteam 6 gallon per day with H8908 manual humidistat. This next generation of humidification makes air feel warmer.
TrueSteam takes the best features from current steam humidifiers
with their efficiency, performance and decreased water consumption,
and combines it with the ease of installation, reliability and value of
flow-through humidifiers. TrueSteam is different from others because
it operates independent of equipment operation. And, with its near 1:1
humidification delivery rate, TrueSteam always delivers the right amount of
humidification.
Honeywell's TrueSteam Humidification
System works independent of your
heating and cooling system, so your
home gets the moisture it needs exactly
when it needs it. |

Corrosion has been major problem with steam humidifiers. The manufacturers blame chlorine and include a charcoal filter. The charcoal filter needs to be replaced once a year to be effective in removing chlorine. Never the less we hear from customers with heating elements showing premature corrosion. Below is an HE440 that was in service for a week.
It appears Honeywell does not sell a replacement heating element for the TrueSteam. We have not heard of a corrosion problem with the TrueSteam but you must be proactive. Inspect your heating element. Premature corrosion is NOT covered under warranty.
Filters such as reverse osmosis can leave water acrid. Acrid water can be balance by calcium treatment, a filter that slowly dissolves calcium in to the water. For steam humidifiers we recommend a expert experienced with your local water to help determine a series of filters and treatment that will balance your water.
